Underperformer: Miami Heat
The Miami Heat are another team that’s struggling, even with the recent addition of former superstar Dwayne Wade. February has been a month to forget for Miami and company with a 1-7 record in the month. The Heat went 10-5 in January and entered February with a 29-22 record. Now, they are currently 30-28, hanging on to the eighth spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
The Heat are free-falling fast in the Eastern Conference with their latest loss leaving some fans questioning a whole lot. Miami led the Philadelphia 76ers by as many as 24 points before squandering the deficit and falling 104-102 in the end. They were outscored 65-40 in the second half.
Miami is 3-7 in its last 10 games and has fallen from a dark horse Eastern Conference Finals opponent in a matter of a month. It hasn’t helped that third-year forward Justise Winslow has regressed this season (6.2 points and 5.3 rebounds per game) or that they lost Dion Waiters for the season on Dec. 22. The All-Star Break couldn’t have come soon enough for this squad as it looks to regroup with the time off.
