Top 4 Point Guards

  1. Damian Lillard  ($9,200) vs. Utah Jazz
  2. Kyrie Irving ($8,400) vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
  3. Ricky Rubio ($7,700) vs. Portland Trail Blazers
  4. Emmanuel Mudiay ($3,700) vs. Indiana Pacers

Rationale:

  • Damian Lillard didn’t need the final 12 minutes of Thursday’s game against the Sacramento Kings to submit his fourth career 50-point scoring game. Even though Lillard sat out the entirety of the fourth quarter, he became just the third player this century to tally at least 50 points while playing fewer than 30 minutes. All Lillard needed were 26 shot attempts, as he knocked down eight shots from 3-point range and each of his 10 free throw attempts to join teammate C.J. McCollum and Houston Rockets guard James Harden as the only players to score at least 50 points while sitting out the final quarter of a game this year.
  • A fresh start may be exactly what point guard Emmanuel Mudiay needs to fulfill his potential. The seventh overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft has averaged 11.1 points, 4.3 assists and 3.1 rebounds a game, but played fewer than 18 minutes each night during his third year in Denver. Mudiay was dealt to the New York Knicks, providing him an opportunity to not only become a key piece of the rotation, but compete for the starting job. New York has been seeking consistent production from the point guard position all year, and with a low valuation in FanDuel NBA leagues, Mudiay could be a steal Sunday afternoon in his debut with the team.
