2.Clippers fail to find a taker for DeAndre Jordan

It seems like forever ago that trade rumors began popping up about DeAndre Jordan. The Los Angeles Clippers’ center seemed like one of the most likely stars to be dealt only a couple of months ago. Now, with the trade deadline only a couple of days away, a move isn’t guaranteed.

There are a couple of reasons for that, but I’m going to focus on one in particular. Specifically, it’s the part where the asking price is going to be too high.

Just look at what the Clippers already got for Blake Griffin. They received an impressive haul from the Detroit Pistons for an excellent player with health concerns. That isn’t going to happen again with Jordan, but Los Angeles will be hoping for similar results anyway.

So when the phone starts ringing in the final day or two before the trade deadline, it’ll be for naught. The Clippers will name their asking price, and teams will scoff at the idea of giving up so much for an impending free agent. That’s not to say he isn’t a difference-maker, but I don’t think he’s worth mortgaging a franchise’s future — unless you’re the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Then again, I have other “bold” plans for them with my final prediction.
