No. 2: Emerging as scary offensive team

Through 53 games thus far in the 2017-18 regular season for Utah, the Jazz have been in the middle of the pack in the league as far as offensive numbers go. However, the Jazz have been one of the top offenses in the entire NBA lately.

In the last 10 games, Utah ranks first in field goal percentage (51.1 percent), first in 3-point percentage (44.1 percent), second in points per game (115.6), second in overall offensive rating (113.9, which is 0.1 points behind the NBA-leading Golden State Warriors) and 10th in assists (24 per game).

Sure, those numbers could be credited to the return Rudy Gobert in the rotation, but outside of Gobert, other players have stepped up. Most notably, rookie guard Donovan Mitchell and guard Ricky Rubio.

Mitchell has continued his impressive rookie season in the second half of the year for Utah. In the last 10 games, Mitchell has appeared in nine contests, averaging 21.1 points, 4.1 assists, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game.

Rubio, who has struggled in his first year with the Jazz, has averaged 15.6 points, 7.5 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game. That stretch was highlighted by a career-high 34-point performance in Utah’s win over the San Antonio Spurs last Saturday.

The Jazz have stepped up in numerous areas, but their offensive production has probably seen the largest jump.
