Caris LeVert ($4,800)

Caris LeVert hasn’t played a full game since Jan. 26. A groin injury has sidelined him for the past week or so. But LeVert, like many players on the Brooklyn Nets roster this year, has been showing a lot of promising signs. His ability to shimmy down into the paint and finish at the rim has made him a tough weapon for opposing teams to stop.

Considering he’s usually slotted in the small forward position, LeVert also has an incredible knack for passing. For forwards who have played 25 games or more. LeVert is top 11 in assists per game (LeBron James leads that category).

Usually a player coming off an injury is a bad pick for daily fantasy as he may be on a minutes restriction or need to shake off some rust, but LeVert might be getting more minutes than expected. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson will be out Friday for the Nets, meaning LeVert should get the start and maybe even play more than usual. There’s a strong chance since he’s able to play at least three positions for the Nets.

The last aspect to picking LeVert is his matchup. Through their last eight games, the Los Angeles Lakers have the fifth-worst defensive rating in the league. When separating by just their defensive rating against guards, the team is still bottom five. The Lakers have been struggling defensively and having D’Angelo Russell and Brook Lopez play with an anger only fueled by revenge will only make things worse.
