It’s been quite the week in the NBA with the Trade Deadline a week away. Big performances and underwhelming ones continue as the season grinds on.

This week’s edition of underperformers and overachievers has its fair share of excitement. Week 16 in the NBA ended with a bang in the final moments. The league saw a player complete the first 60-point triple-double and the following night, a different player put up 50 points in three quarters of play.

The trade of Blake Griffin from the Los Angeles Clippers to the Detroit Pistons was largely overshadowed by big performances. Of course, there were performances that had their lowlights and we’ll get to that. Still, teams are beginning to make moves in search of their next NBA title.

The move of Blake Griffin to the Eastern Conference has shown two things. 1) Signing a long-term free agent deal won’t save you from being traded, and 2) The NBA Trade Deadline is sure to be full of surprises in just one short week.

For players who aren’t on the move, their biggest focus is finding a rhythm. With over half the season’s slate of games completed and counting, the playoff landscape is sure to change in the coming weeks.

Here’s a look at this week’s underperformers and overachievers.
