2018 NBA Draft big board: End of January
By Max Holm
10. Collin Sexton – Alabama
After a dominant head-to-head win over Trae Young and Oklahoma, Collin Sexton flashed everything scouts love about him. He took the point guard battle personally, bumping and face-guarding Young whenever possible. Young finished with just 17 points, as Sexton and Alabama didn’t let him get in rhythm. Sexton finished with 18 points, but had three turnovers to two assists. His floor is incredibly high.
Right now, Sexton is much more of a scorer than pure point guard. Not to compare them skill-wise, but he’s got that Derrick Rose productivity. He can make some great passes, but best influences the game offensively as a scorer. That makes him a trickier fit for some teams and why I have him a little lower than my last big board. For example, Orlando might be a tough spot as they’re in need of a facilitator. Yet, pairing him with Devin Booker in Phoenix is a perfect fit.
