2018 NBA Draft big board: End of January

19. Mitchell Robinson – Chalmette High School
Mitchell Robinson’s decision to join, leave, join again and then leave Western Kentucky is one of the strangest recruiting moments in recent years. Rather than going overseas, Robinson is stateside training for the NBA Draft. While he has more time to work on his game than those in college, he won’t get as much exposure and competition. It’s a risky move, but he still could be a high first round pick.
At around seven feet tall, Robinson was an equal peer of Jaren Jackson Jr. and Mohamed Bamba as a shot-blocker in high school. The athletic big man is also a better lob target than those two players. That in itself leaves a lot to like. There’s no telling what he’s worked on, such as a jumper, so we won’t know much until the pre-draft process starts.
