1. Anthony Davis, PF

Surprise, surprise. Who else other than “The Brow” himself could be No. 1? Davis is used to being in this position. He is the man in NOLA. While the other guys on this list matter and need to step up, anything and everything goes through Anthony Davis in this situation. In other words, this team goes as far as he can take them. But what else could they need him to do?

The man is already averaging 26.5 points, 10.6 rebounds, 2.1 blocks and 1.2 steals, and 2.1 per game.  Well to be fair, the formula for Anthony Davis is simple. Keep up the numbers, improve them if he can and avoid the injury bug. Because the reality of this whole situation is that the Pelicans can kiss the playoffs goodbye if Davis gets injured. Indeed, a bleak situation in NOLA.

With that being said, all Davis can do is play his game and will his team forward. Any expectations should just be put on hold. The interesting part of this situation is that now the NBA can watch to see how Davis responds to this latest adversity. The entire NBA world will watch to see what unfolds in New Orleans from here on out. Because let’s not forget, Davis is a superstar MVP candidate and this is his time to shine.

Whether or not this team makes the playoffs is the biggest question mark. However, as mentioned before, this team goes as far as AD takes them. While Davis is the star of the team, he’ll need the rest of his teammates and whatever outside help he gets to step up with him. Unfortunately, its going to be a long second half of the season for New Orleans Pelicans fans.
