In a stunning move, the Los Angeles Clippers are sending Blake Griffin to the Detroit Pistons. Here are NBA Trade Grades for both sides.
When ESPN‘s Adrian Wojanarowski reported the Detroit Pistons had made Avery Bradley available in trade talks Monday morning, hardly anyone could’ve predicted we’d get resolution so fast…or that it would involve a legitimate NBA superstar.
And yet, by Monday afternoon, Woj had dropped the next bomb, and it was one not many saw coming: The Los Angeles Clippers, amidst toeing the line between making the playoffs as a lower seed and blowing it up, opted for the latter by sending Blake Griffin to Motown.
As Wojnarowski reported, the Clippers are sending Griffin, backup center Willie Reed and power forward Brice Johnson to the Pistons for Bradley, Tobias Harris, Boban Marjanovic, a lightly protected 2018 first round pick and a 2019 second-rounder.
The blockbuster deal is an attempt to bolster Detroit’s roster for a playoff run, while the Clippers are slamming the reset button and will look to deal DeAndre Jordan and Lou Williams in the coming days.
The question is, after such a bizarre twist set the NBA landscape on its head once again, how did each side fare in this deal? To sort it all out, here are the latest NBA trade grades.
