2. A deal in the Knick of time

Although the New York Knicks have hardly been shy to make trades at the deadline, the classic franchise is practicing prudence under general manager Scott Perry, so this deal needs to be tempting for both sides.

In actuality, there is a deal to be had here that will successfully help both sides get what they need in their rosters. The Knicks may be temped to part ways with Kyle O’Quinn if they could fill their need for a true small forward.

Pacers sharpshooter Bojan Bodganovic would provide the Knicks with the upgrade needed at that position, and would give the Pacers a unique depth chart as O’Quinn is not only a great rebounder but a proven passing big man.

To make the deal work, the Knicks would likely ship out Doug McDermott and give the Pacers a less enticing version of Bogdanovic to compensate for his loss. In addition, the Knicks would gain a logical reason to develop WIlly Hernangomez, who flashed his upside at the end of the 2016-17 season.

Truly, both sides could plausibly give a deal like this a long look.
