4. Jayson Tatum, Boston Celtics

Last week: 3rd (↓1)

Boston Celtics rookie Jayson Tatum is another player that took a hit in this week’s NBA Rookie of the Year ladder. The rookie out of Duke has hit a bit of a slump and it’s shown in the latest results for Boston.

Tatum is averaging 8.7 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in the Celtics’ last three contests. He’s shooting 32.3 percent from the field and 30 percent from 3-point land across the same span.  Subsequently, Boston is 1-2 in its last three games.

In the Celtics’ lone win of the week against the Clippers on Wednesday, Tatum had 18 points, six rebounds and three assists on 7-of-16 shooting. In their two losses, Tatum shot 3-for-15 from the field.

The Celtics still have the best record in the East at 35-15, although the Toronto Raptors trail by just a game in the standings. They’ll need Tatum to work out of his slump to help improve their odds.
