Another week has gone by which means more progress for the rookies. See who takes this week’s top spot in the NBA Rookie of the Year Week 16 power rankings.

The NBA saw another week of games go by, giving the rookies another opportunity to solidify themselves on their respective franchises. The young guys will have an opportunity to show what they can do against each other soon enough as the 2018 NBA Rising Stars Challenge rosters were recently announced.

Los Angeles Lakers rookies Lonzo Ball and Kyle Kuzma will be participating, as will Boston Celtics rookie Jayson Tatum as their teammate. They are three of 10 rookies selected to this year’s challenge. Philadelphia 76ers rookie Ben Simmons and Utah Jazz rookie Donovan Mitchell are on the same team as well.

The game will certainly be an entertaining one, maybe more so than the actual All-Star Game. With plenty of rising young stars across the NBA, look for there to be fireworks in this game.

As far as the season goes, Donovan Mitchell and Ben Simmons continue to battle it out for the top spot while not too far behind them lurks Kyle Kuzma. It was a good week overall for all three, as their teams got at least two victories.  Kuzma probably had the biggest impact, as his status in this week’s rookie rankings will show.

Overall, it’s shaping up to be a solid finish in this year’s NBA Rookie of the Year race. Check out this week’s ranking to see if Ben Simmons got his top spot back.
