Courtney Lee ($5,300)

The best part about picking Courtney Lee for your daily fantasy lineup is you most likely won’t regret the decision. In his last 11 games, Lee has gone under the 20 fantasy point mark only twice. But what makes Lee such a solid prospect tonight is equal parts injury- and matchup-related.

Most importantly, Tim Hardaway Jr. will be out again for the New York Knicks, making the team choose between giving Ron Baker or Courtney Lee more minutes. Considering the Knicks seem desperate to win now, Lee is the best candidate to see more minutes on the court.

The second part of this pick has to do with matchup. The Phoenix Suns are a train wreck defensively. Since Eric Bledsoe‘s departure, the Suns rank 28th in defensive rating — ahead only of the Orlando Magic and Sacramento Kings. If you want to look at their defensive rating for just the month of January, they are 29th (only ahead of the Cleveland Cavaliers). Just for fun, if we look at the league’s defensive rating against guards in the month of January, the Suns are still 28th in the league (behind the Cavaliers and their opponent tonight, the New York Knicks).

There’s probably an infinite amount of bad defensive stats to point out the Suns’ flaws on that end, but rather than list more, take my word that Lee is a safe bet.
