Fresh off the second-highest fantasy point total ever recorded in FanDuel NBA tournament play, New Orleans Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins is a must start player for Wednesday night.

New Orleans Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins nearly became the first player to crack the century mark in FanDuel NBA league play.

The 27-year-old was simply unstoppable Monday against the Chicago Bulls, joining Bill Laimbeer and Raef LaFrentz as the only players in league history to collect 20 rebounds and convert five times from 3-point range in the same game.

Despite the statistical brilliance from Cousins, the Pelicans still needed a pair of overtime sessions to secure a 132-128 victory over the Bulls.

The additional time enabled Cousins to set a career-high with 52 minutes, while matching career bests with 24 rebounds and five made 3-point field goals.

Cousins added 44 points, 10 assists, four steals and a block, adding up to 97.8 FanDuel NBA fantasy points, the second-highest total ever recorded.

Prior to the performance Monday night, only Wilt Chamberlain, Oscar RobertsonKareem Abdul-Jabbar and Elgin Baylor have ever posted games with at least 40 points, 20 rebounds and 10 assists.

Only teammate Anthony Davis has ever managed more FanDuel NBA fantasy points in a single game, totaling 99.5 fantasy points in 2016.

The performance from Cousins is hardly an aberration, considering he is on pace to become just the sixth player to average 25 points, 12 rebound and 5.0 assists per game, joining Robertson, Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Elgin Baylor and Charles Barkley.

Few players are more consistent in FanDuel NBA leagues than Cousins, as he is posting 25.6 points, 12.9 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 2.2 3-point field goals, 1.6 steals and 1.5 blocks a game.

Adding Cousins to a FanDuel NBA lineup Wednesday night is especially enticing considering he has averaged 24.2 points on 51.9 percent shooting from the field to go along with 10.8 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

An average night from Cousins results in elite fantasy point production, while his ceiling is among the best FanDuel NBA performances ever submitted.
