5. Becky Hammon

The first option for the Bucks could be making a big splash and hiring San Antonio Spurs assistant coach Becky Hammon, which would make her the first full-time female head coach in NBA history. For a team that is probably looking to shake things up a bit, the Bucks could entertain the idea of luring Hammon to Milwaukee.

A former WNBA player who spent time with the New York Liberty and the San Antonio Stars, Hammon made the switch to the NBA in 2014, joining Gregg Popovich’s coaching staff with the Spurs. As we’ve learned many of times in the past, basically any coach that branches off the Popovich tree goes on to being a successful coach.

Hammon also has some head coaching experience in the NBA, although it’s a very small sample size. For the past two seasons, Hammon has served as the head coach of the Spurs’ NBA Summer League team, even leading them to the Las Vegas title in 2015. She also coached the Spurs in a preseason victory over the Denver Nuggets prior to the start of this season.

The Bucks are already coming off an experiment with a former basketball player as their head coach, so maybe they shy away from this option. But you never know, maybe this could be Hammon’s moment with the Bucks.
