Overachiever: Devin Booker, Phoenix Suns

The Phoenix Suns are only 16-29 this season, but don’t tell that to young shooting guard Devin Booker. Booker has played like a man possessed as of late and continues to break the barrier with just how well he can score the ball.

The third-year shooting guard is averaging 25.2 points, 4.6 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game this season on 44.2 percent shooting from the floor and 38.8 percent from 3-point range. He’s sitting on career-highs in those respective percentages.

Booker put up 43 points and eight rebounds in Phoenix’s most recent loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. He scored the team’s final 21 points on 77 percent shooting from the floor and 57 percent from 3-point land.

Booker hasn’t come close to putting up 70 points again, but based on how things are going, it’s hard to put it past him just yet. Booker became the first Suns’ player to put up 40-plus points and at least eight assists since Stephon Marbury (2002-03).
