Charlotte Hornets, Jan. 17

The Washington Wizards are 0-1 against the Charlotte Hornets (17-25) this season. Their meeting Wednesday night will be the second of four contests between the teams. The Wizards’ first loss to Charlotte came back on Nov. 22 when they fell 129-124 in overtime.

The Wizards led 113-108 with 1:36 left in the game before things fell apart for them in the late stages. Kemba Walker, Dwight Howard and Jeremy Lamb combined to score 74 points as the trio proved to be too much for Washington to handle.

The theme of the game this time around is: Finish! Luckily for the Wizards, Markeiff Morris is healthy now. Although their rotation has seen better days, the Wizards have a 12-9 record against teams with records below the .500 mark. The Hornets are just 11-12 at home this season, something that’s changed drastically since they last met in November.

The odds certainly favor the Wizards in the first game of their long road trip. Now, they just need to finish games where they have leads in the fourth quarter.
