The 2018 NBA trade deadline is drawing near, and the latest rumors have painted a picture of which Los Angeles Lakers could be dealt before Feb. 8.

Like just almost any other year, the Los Angeles Lakers have been one of the most talked-about teams when it comes to trade rumors. The Lakers are considered one of the biggest sellers right now, especially as they look to do some salary cap maneuvering ahead of 2018 free agency.

With the 2018 NBA trade deadline less than a month away, we’re hearing as much chatter as we have all season. Not only are there a number of players allegedly on the trade block, but word is Magic Johnson is actively shopping some of his young assets. It’s affected the on-court product, but that doesn’t appear to be a concern.

Instead, the focus has solely been on preparing for the Lakers’ pursuit of players such as LeBron James and Paul George in 2018. Los Angeles nearly has enough cap space for two max-contract free agents. To achieve the financially flexibility Magic wants, though, more pieces must be shifted around.

So what can we expect between now and the Feb. 8 trade deadline? At least one player will be dealt, but more could also be sent packing. Just who they’ll be is still to be determined.
