The Washington Wizards are almost halfway through their schedule in 2017-18. Here’s a look at an early assessment of their progress so far.

The Washington Wizards currently boast the fourth-best record in the Eastern Conference. At 23-17, but there’s still plenty of work for them to do if they hope to contend for the conference crown again this year. They’ve still won six of their last eight games after going 10-6 in the month of December. So far, they’re 2-1 in January with things looking up as the team continues to find its stride.

Their recent loss to the Milwaukee Bucks snapped a four-game winning streak for the Washington Wizards, although 40 games in, they still look to be in good shape.

The Wizards haven’t looked like a perfect squad, but that’s okay considering they’ve added a few new faces to their rotation. The starters have been their usual selves while it’s been their bench that continues to be a work in progress.

Kelly Oubre Jr. and Mike Scott have been solid contributors, while Jodie Meeks, Ian Mahinmi and Tomas Satoransky are still looking to find their footing.

With a big matchup looming on Wednesday night against the Utah Jazz, it’s worth taking a look at some early strengths and weaknesses with this team.
