Portland Trail Blazers: Top 10 player performances of 2017
9. Damian Lillard, Nov. 24: 34 points, 9 assists, 29.7 Game Score
This game is the most recent entry on this list. The Blazers found themselves taking on the Brooklyn Nets the day after Thanksgiving. It was a matinee matchup, the third of a five-game road trip.
However, Lillard didn’t use the early start as an excuse for a bad game. Instead, he helped lead Portland past the Nets, 127-125. He shot 10-for-19 from the field, including 4-for-6 from 3-point range and 10-for-11 from the free throw line. Lillard fell only an assist short of a double-double.
Lillard also had plenty of scoring help from his teammates in this up-tempo matchup. Nurkic was able to reach a double-double with 29 points and 15 rebounds. McCollum chipped in 26 points and five assists to the cause, while Evan Turner had 13 points off of the bench.
This win gave the Blazers the momentum to complete their road trip with a three-game winning streak. Unfortunately, the team has gone 7-9 since that afternoon in Brooklyn. It will likely take more gutsy performances like this to set the Blazers back on course.
