Portland Trail Blazers: Top 10 player performances of 2017
2. Damian Lillard, March 19: 49 points, 5 assists, 41.0 Game Score
We now move on to a couple of legacy-defining games. As evidenced by this list, Damian Lillard had quite a few of them in 2017. This particular performance helped give Portland the decisive 114-105 victory on the road against the Miami Heat.
This game came at the tail-end of a five-game road trip and was only two games removed from his 36-point night at San Antonio. This was his first 40-point game since Dec. 15, 2016. In that game, he dropped 40 points and dished 10 assists in a loss to the Nuggets.
But this game was very much a win for Lillard and Portland. He shot 14-for-21 from the field. The 66.7 percent he shot was tied for his most efficient night of the season. He also went 9-for-12 from 3-point range, tying a season-high for most 3-pointers made in a game. Lastly, he also went a perfect 12-for-12 from the line, one of 34 perfect nights from the charity stripe in 2016-17.
The win ended a successful 4-1 road trip. However, the Blazers were still two games removed from the six-game win streak that would put them at .500. Meanwhile, Lillard had one more big performance left for his team in 2017.
