5. Jimmy Butler drops 52 points against Charlotte Hornets

If the Bulls had any hopes of making a playoff push, they would need help from the team’s best player in Jimmy Butler. In a January game against the Hornets, he delivered one of his best performances during his tenure in the Windy City.

With both Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo out the lineup, Butler rose to the occasion, scoring 52 points, leading the Bulls to a much-needed 118-111 victory. Not only was the scoring output impressive, but the efficiency in which Butler compiled the numbers left fans at the United Center wanting more.

Butler connected on 15 of his 24 attempts from the field. Additionally, the three-time All-Star shot 21-of-22 from the charity stripe.

For good measure, Butler also pulled down 12 rebounds and handed out six assists, becoming just the second player in franchise history to record multiple 50-point games.

As he had done so many times during the season, Butler saved his best for when his team needed it most.
