In a game where every possession counted down the stretch, a showdown between the Houston Rockets and Oklahoma City Thunder proved to be one of the most entertaining contests on Christmas Day. Here are the three takeaways from Clutch City’s most recent outing.

On an evening where the Houston Rockets were looking to avoid their third straight loss, Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder appeared to have other plans in mind, as the six-time All-Star proved to be the main engine that helped ignite his team late in the fourth quarter.

The reigning MVP scored a game-high 31 points and dished out 11 assists, to help Oklahoma City capture a 112-107 win against Houston on Monday night.

James Harden — the league’s leading scorer, led the Rockets with a team-high 29 points and 14 assists, while Trevor Ariza and Eric Gordon each finished with 20 points.

Clint Capela, who missed the last two games with a left heel contusion, added 19 points and 10 rebounds for Houston in a valiant effort.

Here are the three takeaways from the Rockets’ most recent performance.
