As the Los Angeles Lakers gear up for their Christmas Day matchup with the Minnesota Timberwolves, let’s take a look at three reasons the team belongs on Santa’s nice list this year.

It’s certainly that time of year where children around the world are curious to find out whether they’ve landed on Santa’s naughty or nice list. The Los Angeles Lakers have had a frustrating season so far, but there are certainly some positives to take away from the team’s play after about two months.

Los Angeles currently has a record of 11-20, which has been good enough for 11th place in the Western Conference standings and five games away from the eighth and final playoff spot. There is still plenty of time for the team to develop more consistent winning ways, but these growing pains from the young Lakers were expected.

Despite the immense youth of the roster, the Lakers have been incredibly entertaining for their own fans and casual NBA fans around the league. They have been playing close games with the best teams in the league, but their youth has really shown towards the end of games where players seem a bit slower to react in the big moments.

The Lakers will have a chance to open presents with their families before they head to Staples Center for their game, so here are three reasons the team won’t be receiving a lump of coal from Santa Claus this Christmas.
