8. John Collins, Atlanta Hawks

Last rank: No. 6 (↓2)

Atlanta Hawks rookie John Collins has dropped a bit in this week’s Rookie of the Year power rankings as he continues to get back into his groove. Collins missed some time with a shoulder injury and is adjusting to monitored minutes in the rotation.

He had his best game since returning from injury on Wednesday night against the Indiana Pacers. Collins put up 18 points along with nine rebounds and a block, despite a 105-95 loss. He went 6-for-7 from the floor and 6-of-6 from the free throw line, logging 27 minutes off the bench.

Collins is averaging 11.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 blocks per game for the Hawks since his injury. Although they have a 7-24 record, he continues to be a spark on the offensive end. His ability to finish with thunderous dunks at the rim should earn him a spot back in the starting rotation sooner rather than later.
