10. OG Anunoby, Toronto Raptors

Last rank: N/A

The Toronto Raptors are 9-1 in the month of December. They’ve won five straight games after their recent 114-109 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers. A lot of it has to do with the opportunities created with rookie OG Anunoby on the floor. He makes his first appearance on the Rookie of the Year ladder after some strong performances through the week.

Anunoby had six points and two steals in the Raptors’ latest win. He put up a career-high 20 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the 3-point line against the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night. The rookie out of Indiana is averaging 7.1 points and 2.0 rebounds this season, but as a starter, he’s averaging 8.1 points while shooting over 50 percent from the field and 3-point range.

Anunoby continues to exceed expectations in the Raptors lineup and it’s gone well alongside what Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan and Serge Ibaka bring to the table. DeRozan put up 45 points in the Raptors’ victory over the Sixers, limiting Anunoby’s production in the process.
