The Rookie of the Year ladder rankings see a shakeup once again. See who is this week’s No. 1 after another exciting week of NBA basketball.

The Rookie of the Year is beginning to heat up as we approach the new year. A string of dominant performances from a particular Los Angeles Lakers rookie has the team looking at a new approach on offense. Their latest victory over the Houston Rockets shows they’re definitely capable of competing with their young core.

The Philadelphia 76ers are a team that has stalled of late in the month of December. They’ve lost four games in a row as injuries have sidelined Joel Embiid and now J.J. Redick, putting more of the offensive burden on the shoulders of rookie Ben Simmons. Simmons hasn’t quite embraced the role, but he’s coming along.

The competition has gotten a lot more interesting in the past couple of weeks. Simmons continues to fill up the stat sheet, but he misses his sidekick in Joel Embiid.

There are a few players that return to this week’s Top 10 after falling out of the rankings. There is also one new face as the season approaches the midway point. Frank Ntilikina and Jordan Bell have cooled off for their respective squads, but others have stepped up to replace them in this week’s honorable mentions.
