2017-18 NBA Power Rankings: Bulls back in Week 10
In Week 10 of NBA Power Rankings, the Houston Rockets reign, the Golden State Warriors move up and the Chicago Bulls are a major pleasant surprise.
As winners in 14 straight games, the Houston Rockets continue their reign atop the latest NBA Power Rankings, while the Golden State Warriors’ nine-game win streak helps them move closer to the No. 1 spot. The big surprise of Week 10, however, is the streaking Chicago Bulls.
Winners of six straight games, it wasn’t long ago that the Bulls were the worst team in the league, sporting a 3-20 record after a depressing 10-game skid. But with Kris Dunn coming to life, Bobby Portis and Nikola Mirotic playing the best ball of their careers and Lauri Markkanen back, the Bulls are actually kind of — dare we say it — fun.
Will this random win streak ruin Chicago’s odds in the 2018 NBA Draft Lottery? It’s too early to tell. But one thing is certain: Whether or not this unexpected competence continues, it’s been a temporary breath of fresh air for one of the league’s most depressed fanbases.
The question is, how far do the Bulls climb in Week 10 NBA Power Rankings, and where does the rest of the league shake out?
