Despite establishing themselves as a legitimate playoff team, the Philadelphia 76ers nonetheless could benefit from some reinforcements.

Through 27 games, the Philadelphia 76ers have set themselves up well for the remainder of the season, with the dynamic duo of Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons being the talk of the league.

In addition to their contributions, the stellar play of perimeter veterans in J.J. Redick and Robert Covington has stood out. Furthermore, the play of the emerging Dario Saric, T.J. McConnell and Richaun Holmes has also been a key factor in the Sixers ranking seventh in the Eastern Conference standings with a 14-13 record.

But while the future of the team is abundantly bright, the immediate fortunes of the Sixers can always be further enhanced. The first step in this process was the recent trade of the seldom-used duo of Jahlil Okafor and Nik Stauskas to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for Trevor Booker. With a combination of toughness and veteran nous, Booker has already proved to be a terrific complement in the Sixers’ frontcourt with his versatility a much sought-after feature.

So while Booker’s addition is certainly welcome, there’s another pressing issue which the Sixers would be wise to shore up as the season progresses.

Thus far, the Sixers currently rank second in the league in catch-and-shoot attempts at 30.6 per game, with 25.7 of these attempts coming from 3-point range. However, their conversion rate has not been ideal, ranking 24th overall from the field in converting at a 36.8 percent clip.

A similar story comes in their spot-up opportunities, with the Sixers ranking fourth with 22.3 attempts per game, but ranking 26th in shooting at a 37.1 percent clip.

Aside from the aforementioned Redick and Covington, the Sixers’ remaining perimeter threats have struggled to make their presence felt. Jerryd Bayless, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot and Saric, all key rotation players currently for the Sixers, are shooting at a 35.8 percent clip or lower on their catch-and-shoot attempts. Considering this trio averages 12.7 attempts per game between them, this is certainly an area in which the Sixers can look to upgrade as they make their charge toward the postseason.

With this in mind, here are three prime shooting targets the Sixers should have in mind as the trade deadline approaches.
