The young Los Angeles Lakers continue to push through the 2017-18 season. As other young teams begin making their marks and establishing their identities, there are a few interesting teams that the Lakers may be seeing much more of in the near future.

Life as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers certainly must feel different than being with any other organization. After all, the Lakers are a symbol of glitz, glamour and success. However, recent years have proved otherwise. But the times are slowly changing and L.A. has hope with its current young core. This process makes it fun, considering the other young teams around the league that are on the rise.

While the league is currently dominated by the likes of the Golden State Warriors and the Cleveland Cavaliers, the NBA and its players know this won’t last forever. How long this lasts is unknown.

What is known, is that the Lakers, alongside a few other young teams, are starting to look forward and prepare for the eventual shift in power. Out East, LeBron James will have to face Father Time someday. (Right?) And out West, will there be enough money to keep the Warriors’ core intact? How will the Chris Paul and James Harden experiment with the Houston Rockets finish out? What will teh Oklahoma City Thunder look like after this season?

These are all realistic questions that will be answered at some point. In the meantime though, let’s take a look at some future rivalries that the Los Angeles Lakers may face.
