The Houston Rockets have the best record in basketball and are seeking to maintain their red-hot momentum the rest of the way. Here’s a look at three must-win games for Clutch City in the month of December.

In a season where the Houston Rockets front office and coaching staff came in with high expectations, the team has managed to live up to the hype and then some through their first 23 games. They’ve posted the best record in the NBA at 19-4, while also making significant improvements on both ends of the floor.

Since the return of Chris Paul last month, Houston has not dropped a single contest over the last three weeks — averaging almost 120 points per game, while holding opponents to 99 points over the last eight games. The Rockets are the only team in the league that currently sits within the top five in both offensive and defensive rating.

James Harden has picked up where he left off last year, leading the league in scoring with 31.6 points and 9.4 assists per game. Meanwhile, key role players like Ryan Anderson and Clint Capela are in the midst of producing career seasons down in Clutch City.

Now, Houston seeks to keep their momentum going in the month of December, as the Rockets have a chance to extend their lead atop of the Western Conference standings. Here is a look at three must-win games in December.
