New Orleans Pelicans: 3 wishes this holiday season
By Eric Magana
1. A fully healthy squad
While no team in the NBA is ever fully healthy, it is always nice to their players be able to set foot on the court. The New Orleans Pelicans have not been so fortunate. As the team has seen several players sit with injury during the young season. The list is quite long and hopefully this won’t be the them this season.
The list has included or currently includes the following players this season: Tony Allen, Rajon Rondo, Omer Asik, Anthony Davis, Solomon Hill and Alexis Ajinca. Now that is what you called injury-ravaged.
Where the Pelicans and their fans can breathe is the fact that Anthony Davis is not lost for the season. According to ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski, Davis’s MRI came back negative and he is now listed as day-to-day. It is unclear, however, the amount of time he’ll miss.
When Davis does return, it will be a good time to start paying attention. Because by then, the New Orleans Pelicans should have their key players healthy and ready to roll. It will be at this point in the season where the Pelicans will want to make sure that their two stars and role players start meshing together and prepare for a playoff run post All-Star game.
It’s going to be a busy season for Santa this year, as per usual. The New Orleans Pelicans have playoff potential. They must avoid self-destruction and hopefully shake the dreaded injury bug off the team. Because when healthy, this team isn’t the one to be slept on.

While the season is still young, the holidays are here and it’s a great time to be in the holiday spirit, especially if your team is competing for the playoffs. Pelicans fans will be rooting for Santa Claus to bring them some playoff basketball. They may have to wait until May for that gift, but it’ll be worth the wait.
