NBA Awards Watch: Frontrunners for MVP, ROY and more through November
With November in the rearview mirror and the 2017-18 season already one-quarter down, it’s time for a new edition of NBA Awards Watch.
The 2017-18 NBA season is off to a rip-roaring start and thanks to an earlier start in mid-October, the latest edition of NBA Awards Watch has a larger sample size to work with than usual.
As the calendar flips to December, every team has already completed the first quarter of their schedule. We’ve seen the Boston Celtics and Houston Rockets surge to the best records in their respective conferences, while the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors patiently wait for March and April to arrive.
We’ve seen some of the biggest names in the game step up, significant names go down with injury, and the names of unicorns become household presences.
The question is, at the quarter mark of the 2017-18 NBA season, who are the favorites for Coach of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Sixth Man of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Most Improved Player of the Year and MVP? To sort it all out, here’s an updated edition of NBA Awards Watch.
