3. Kyle Lowry could go off
Since the Hornets are without Walker, this opens the door for Lowry to step up in a big way. Although he has been quiet this season, his recent numbers show he can score the ball.
The Hornets are going to be giving Michael Carter-Williams the start more than likely. And although Carter-Williams is not terrible, he will have a hard time guarding the three-time All-Star.
So far this season, Lowry is averaging 15.7 points, 7.0 assists and 6.3 rebounds per game — a huge turnaround from the beginning of this season.
In two of his last three games, he was able to put up 20 or more points. This was against the Indiana Pacers and the New York Knicks — two teams with better records than the Hornets.
So what does this mean exactly? That we have seen Lowry put up monster numbers. It just comes down to consistently doing it now.
The Raptors rely heavily on DeMar DeRozan for most of their scoring needs, but he can’t do it alone. Lowry is their next best option as far as scoring the basketball. Wednesday night could be a huge night for Lowry so be sure to keep an eye on him.
