2017-18 NBA Power Rankings: Pistons, Pacers impress in Week 7

In Week 7 of NBA Power Rankings, the Detroit Pistons and Indiana Pacers impress while the Memphis Grizzlies and Orlando Magic underwhelm.

The NBA is one of the more entertaining sports leagues around, and the past seven days provided plenty of proof.

Aside from the Boston Celtics’ 16-game win streak finally coming to a halt, the past week provided us with nine-game losing streaks for the Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies, who fired head coach David Fizdale on Monday to serve the league its first quality option on the open market on a silver platter.

Which team decides to create a vacancy and fill it with Fizdale remains to be seen, but on the hardwood, the Indiana Pacers and Detroit Pistons are doing their best to help the Celtics, resurgent Cleveland Cavaliers and promising Philadelphia 76ers to make the East more entertaining than the West right now.

With injuries ranging from Rudy Gobert to Blake Griffin to Paul Millsap to Patrick Beverley to Mike Conley, the West is banged up right now and several teams are capitalizing.
