8. De’Aaron Fox, Sacramento Kings

Last week: No. 7 (↓1)

The Sacramento Kings and point guard De’Aaron Fox are making strides, although fellow rookie Frank Mason III is seeing his fair share of time in the rotation as well. Mason is another rookie guard the Kings have inserted into the rotation next to Fox. Fox has started three of the last four games for Sacramento and he’s done rather well. He’s averaging 9.8 points, 3.6 assists and 2.4 rebounds in five starts so far this season.

Fox’s numbers have been much better in a reserve role, although the Kings are 2-2 in their last four contests. He is averaging 11.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game off the bench.

Right now, the Kings are learning to trust their big men to score in the post. Veteran Zach Randolph is averaging a team-high 12.9 points per game. Willey Cauley-Stein is fourth on the team in scoring with 10.2 points per game. The only downside to that is Sacramento ranks 30th as a team in the league in points per game (94.3). They could certainly use more offense from Fox, he just needs to find his groove a bit more.
