It’s that time of year where we sit around the kitchen table, stuff our faces with a Thanksgiving feast, and reflect on all of the blessings in our lives that we are thankful for. Despite sitting in second to last in the Eastern Conference at 3-11, Chicago Bulls fans can still reflect on the state of their beloved team and have things to be thankful for this Thanksgiving.

There is no denying that the Chicago Bulls are in a time of rebuilding as the front office looks to put the pieces together and create a team capable of hoisting the franchise’s seventh banner. It will be much easier said than done, but the team has taken steps to give fans a reason to be optimistic they can right the ship soon enough.

The Bulls officially hit the reset button on the franchise when they decided to trade superstar swingman Jimmy Butler to the Minnesota Timberwolves in exchange for Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn, and the seventh overall pick used to select Lauri Markkanen out of the University of Arizona.

This trade left the team with a stripped-down roster full of young players that have yet to break out and veterans that are just happy to be on an NBA roster. Head coach Fred Hoiberg has been very critical of his team, saying in the buildup to Wednesday’s loss to Oklahoma City that “We’re playing harder in practices than we are in games. That’s going to have to change.”

For now, Bulls fans are subjected to watching a struggling team fight for relevancy in the national conversation outside of where they’ll end up in this year’s NBA Draft Lottery. Despite all of this, here are three things Bulls fans can be thankful for this year at their Thanksgiving feast.
