Toronto Raptors: 3 takeaways from the Raptors’ first 15 games
2. Kyle Lowry has been inconsistent
Kyle Lowry this season has seen his fair shares of ups and downs. We have seen games from him where he plays really well, and also games where he struggles. Although we know he has what it takes to be great, it has been a rare sighting this season.
So far this season, Lowry has only averaged 14.9 points per game, which is his lowest average since the 2012-13 season when he only averaged 11.6 points per game.

This cannot continue as the season progresses. Lowry needs to become more reliable to score on offense. In their loss to the Golden State Warriors, Lowry only had 14 points and only shot 27.8 percent from the field.
Why does this stat stand out? Because everyone is chasing the Warriors. If the Raptors are somehow able to make it out of the East, they are more than likely going to be playing the Warriors. And if they want a chance at beating them, Lowry has to play better than that.
It is only one game and it was early in the season, but it is still something to think about. It is also worth noting that he has had some great games this season as well.
In Friday’s win over the New York Knicks, Lowry had 22 points to help push the Raptors to their 10th win. So we have seen him play great, but we have also seen him underperform. The Raptors need to see him be more consistent if they want to have a shot at the championship.
