The shot blocking of Kevin Durant has made him an even greater asset for FanDuel NBA tournament play.

The next phase in the evolution of Kevin Durant is underway and FanDuel NBA lineups featuring him are reaping the benefits.

The four-time scoring champion is once again terrorizing opposing defenses, averaging 25.2 points per game while shooting 53.8 percent from the field and connecting on 46.7 percent of his attempts from 3-point range, the best long range shooting of his career.

Only Durant has added elite rim protection to his vast array of talents. The 6’9″ forward ranks second in the league with 29 rejections and his 2.4 blocks per game marks the highest average of his 11-year career.

Durant set the tone for the 2017-18 season during the Warriors’ second game of the year, when he set a career-high with seven rejections.

For the second year in a row, Golden State is the top shot blocking team in the league, only the blocks have increased from 6.8 a year ago to 9.0.

The dramatic increase stems from the production of Durant. The eight-time All-Star has swatted away two or more shots in six of the past seven games.

If he is able to maintain his average of 2.4 blocks per game, Durant would finish the season with 197 blocks, 92 more than his previous career-high.

Easy baskets are becoming a rarity against the Warriors and with Durant patrolling the middle, the blocked shots will continue.
