Top 4 Shooting Guards

  1. DeMar DeRozan ($8,200) vs. Boston Celtics
  2. Victor Oladipo ($7,600) vs. Houston Rockets
  3. Avery Bradley ($6,200) vs. Miami Heat
  4. Eric Gordon ($5,900) vs. Indiana Pacers

Rationale:

  • DeMar DeRozan is adding the ability to setup his teammates to his offensive repertoire. The three-time All-Star is dishing out 4.2 assists per game, the highest average of his career, and is coming off his finest performance of the year. Thursday against the Pelicans, DeRozan submitted season-high eight assists, to go along with 33 points. DeRozan is averaging 2.6 fewer points per game than a year ago, but is beginning to prop up his scoring by earning trips to the free throw line. Over the past four games, DeRozan has attempted 10.8 free throws per game, 1.5 more than his season average.
  • Ever since Stan Van Gundy took over as coach of the Pistons, shooting guard has been the biggest question mark on the roster. Detroit had players at the position incapable of shooting effectively on the perimeter and providing resistance on the defensive end. Avery Bradley has alleviated those concerns. Bradley has scored 20 or more points three times in the past four games, but his contributions aren’t limited to the offensive end. Bradley has recorded one or more steals in each of the past eight games, moving his average up to 1.5 per game, matching the highest average of his career.
