Rationale:

  • The NBA’s reigning scoring champion is averaging less than 20 points per game with nearly 15 percent of the regular season completed. Russell Westbrook has adjusted his game after Oklahoma City brought in a pair of All-Star caliber forwards, reducing his scoring average to 19.7 points per game, but he has maintained his dominance in FanDuel NBA play by dishing out 10.2 assists per game, the most in the league. All Westbrook needs is 24 points Sunday to elevate his average to 20 points per game. In three meetings with Dallas last year, Westbrook averaged 37 points, one of nine opponents he torched for more than 35 points per game.
  • If LeBron James were in charge of the Knicks, Dennis Smith Jr. would have never slipped past the eighth pick.
