5. De’Aaron Fox, Sacramento Kings

Last week: No. 9 (↑4)

The Sacramento Kings are on a two-game winning streak thanks to the heroics of rookie De’Aaron Fox. He didn’t have the best night on Thursday shooting the ball but he finished strong, giving them a 109-108 victory over the Sixers in the process.

Fox takes a leap in this week’s Rookie of the Year ladder after nailing a game-winning shot with 13.4 seconds remaining against the Philadelphia 76ers. It was only his fourth field goal of the game but it capped off a 7-0 run that gave the Kings their third win of the season.

Fox finished the game shooting 4-of-11 from the floor with 11 points, seven assists and four rebounds in 29 minutes of action. On the season, he’s shooting 40.9 percent from the floor and 18.8 percent from 3-point range.

He hasn’t quite found his touch from the 3-point arc, but he’s been a solid sixth man in the rotation for the Sacramento Kings. As he begins to find his groove, he could begin to make a push for Rookie of the Year soon.
