7. Donovan Mitchell, Utah Jazz

Last week: No. 8 (↑1)

The Utah Jazz and Donovan Mitchell didn’t get a win last week, but Mitchell is adjusting to their style of play. The Jazz’s slow style of play seems to fit nicely with Mitchell’s volume-shooting ability, percentages be damned.

Mitchell was 3-of-21 from the field (2-for-11 from 3-point range) in Utah’s most recent loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday night. He finished the game with eight points, three rebounds, an assist, a steal and a block.

The rookie guard out of Louisville is averaging 18.0 shot attempts and 6.0 made shots across the Jazz’ last three games. He’s getting a shot at replacing what Gordon Hayward was to them last year and seems to be embracing the role.

Mitchell followed up his career-high 28-point performance with a 25-point performance against the Toronto Raptors last Friday night.

He is shooting 34.4 percent from the field and 31.7 percent from the 3-point arc on the season, but the Jazz have made him their go-to option on offense when he’s on the floor.
