In the spirit of Halloween, it’s time to play trick-or-treat with each NBA team’s most noticeable early season trend in 2017-18 to determine which are flukes and which will last.

Normally on Halloween, all NBA fans have to work with is the first game of the season. But with the regular season moving up a few weeks to mid-October, the 2017-18 campaign has given us two full weeks of sample size to work with.

In the spirit of All Hallow’s Eve, it only feels right to take a look at some early season trends and try to determine which are flukes or October overreactions, and which are actually sustainable throughout the 82-game season.

From the Cleveland Cavaliers’ early struggles to fast starts for the Orlando Magic and Memphis Grizzlies, this game is called trick-or-treat. As we go through the main early season trend for each team, we’ll be deciding whether that storyline is a trick (not sustainable or indicative of what will happen over the course of the season) or treat (worth buying into for the rest of the year).

Without further ado, let’s take a look at the most noticeable observations for all 30 NBA teams and play some trick-or-treat.
