28. Rodions Kurucs, SF, Barcelona

Kurucs was in the mid-to-late first round conversation last season, but inevitably decided to return to Europe for another season under the Barcelona umbrella — where he’s currently averaging 10 points per game for Barca’s secondary team.

The 2018 class is theroetically weaker than 2017’s once you venture outside the lottery, but some lingering concerns hold Kurucs back. He’s a plus athlete at 6’8″, but is still thin in build and lacks a certain degree of offensive consistency, especially from deep.

Kurucs projects well as a perimeter threat who can create his own shot in the half-court, but the former hasn’t necessarily come to fruition yet. He averaged just 31.9 percent from 3-point range last season, and is a historically streaky shooter overall.
