The 2017-18 NBA season is two weeks in. Here’s an early look at the Rookie of the Year Ladder for Week 2.

The 2017 NBA Draft class is making quite the splash this season. Thirteen rookies from the 2017 draft are seeing over 20 minutes per game in the early going and they are producing. Six of those rookies have combined for 11 double-doubles through the first two weeks. Last season, just two rookies combined for three double-doubles through the first two weeks.

Philadelphia 76ers point forward Ben Simmons has already recorded a triple-double four games into the season. He became the first rookie to do so since Hambone Jones in 1967, also joining Milwaukee Bucks’ Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson as the only three to ever do so.

Los Angeles Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball is close to averaging a triple-double. While his father has done the talking off the court, he’s let his play do the talking on it.

It’s been an exciting start to the season for the Boston Celtics too despite a scary scene just minutes into their season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Rookie forward Jayson Tatum has had to grow up quickly, but he’s embracing the bigger role.

Whether they’re undergoing a rebuild or a playoff contender, each rookie has shown superstar potential, which is a good sign as the league continues to evolve into a more 3-point shooting league.

Here’s a look at this week’s rookie ladder.
