3. Wizards hit a snag on both ends

The Washington Wizards’ offense finished the game a lot like it began. They scored just 18 points in the first quarter, shooting 7-of-18 (38.9 percent) from the field, trailing the Lakers 23-18 after one.

Things improved mightily after the first, but in the fourth quarter, the offense reverted back to its old stagnant self. Washington scored a season-low 13 points on 5-of-23 shooting (21.7 percent) from the floor.

The bench got a solid shooting effort from sharpshooter Jodie Meeks, but a majority of his production came in the first half. Meeks put up 11 points on 3-of-5 shooting, draining two 3-pointers in the effort. He had eight points in the first two quarters of play.

The Wizards shot 41.1 percent from the field and 23.1 percent from the 3-point arc as a team. Wall and Beal combined for 45 shots and Kelly Oubre Jr. and Otto Porter were relatively ineffective on offense in the end. Porter fouled out of the game as well.

Oubre Jr. was unable to get a key stop on Brandon Ingram on the final play of regulation, tying the game at 92-92 with 0.7 seconds remaining in the game.
