2. Assists

The Wolves have a big hole to fill in the assist area after the departure of Ricky Rubio. Rubio averaged 9.1 assists per game last season.

It looks like the void Rubio left is going to be filled by committee. Teague and Butler together are the key facilitators through the first three games of the season. With the offensive tandem of Towns and Wiggins, they are stepping back a bit to feed the hungry rising stars.

Towns and Wiggins both need to increase their assists going forward. The first game Towns missed out on assist opportunities, trying to force offense when double-teamed. That is something that will improve as the Wolves build more chemistry and Towns builds trust in his new teammates.

  1. Jeff Teague – 6.3
  2. Jimmy Butler – 4.0
  3. Jamal Crawford – 2.7
  4. Tyus Jones – 2.0
  5. Taj Gibson – 2.0
  6. Andrew Wiggins – 1.7
  7. Gorgui Dieng – 1.3
  8. Karl-Anthony Towns – 1.0
  9. Nemanja Bjelica – 0.3
  10. Shabazz Muhammad – 0.3
