After a defining win over The Oklahoma City Thunder, it is clear these are not the same old Minnesota Timberwolves. Here we look at who is leading the Wolves in key statistics.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are off to a 2-1 start for the 2017-18 NBA season. It was their first 2-1 start since they won their first two games in 2015 against the Los Angeles Lakers and Denver Nuggets. This year, their schedule started off tough as they played three Western Conference playoff teams to start the season.

They lost the first game of the season to the San Antonio Spurs on the road. The Spurs were without Kawhi Leonard, but the Timberwolves were without an identity. It was their first game of the season and they had to figure it out on the court. They took small strides the following two games.

The second game the Timberwolves beat the Utah Jazz 100-97 during their home opener. The Jazz gave the Wolves all they could handle. Ricky Rubio played a phenomenal game against his former team, putting up 19 points and 10 assists. This was a game the Wolves found ways to lose during previous seasons. It was good to see them close out a good team out down the stretch.

The third game of the season was a prolific win by the Timberwolves. They beat the Oklahoma City Thunder on a Andrew Wiggins buzzer-beating 3-pointer. The Thunder are a team the Wolves face often early this season. It was a good indication of where they are and their potential.
